ARCHI3D FOR SKETCHUP · DEVELOPER PREVIEW 0.1.9

Your models,
straight into your scene.

Browse Archi3D, log in with your existing account, and place a purchased model in SketchUp. The extension handles the ZIP for you.

In-window previews · picture search · remembered sign-in · in-app updates. Windows and macOS desktop verification is still required.

Choose your model

Browse SketchUp listings or open My models. Your account, credit balance and purchase permissions stay the same.

We unpack it

The ZIP downloads in the background. The extension extracts the SketchUp files and textures, then removes the temporary ZIP.

Click to place

Add to SketchUp prepares the default model automatically. Click in your scene to place it. For packages with several files, use the compact selector to add another version. Bundled SKM files can be added to your Materials tray.

One last manual update

If you have version 0.1.2 or earlier, install this RBZ through Extension Manager and restart SketchUp. If you already have version 0.1.3 or later, use Check for updates inside the extension to install 0.1.9. It adds a wider catalog, a compact progress strip, clearer recommendations, and automatic placement from Add to SketchUp. The separate Insert button is gone. SketchUp will ask you to confirm the installation. Save your work and restart after installing.

Previews and recommendations stay in the same window. Use picture search to compare colour and composition. Keep Remember sign-in on this computer checked to restore your account next time; logging out removes the saved sign-in.

Install once. Keep creating.

  1. Download the RBZ file to your computer.
  2. In SketchUp, open Extensions → Extension Manager → Install Extension and select the RBZ.
  3. Click the Archi3D Models toolbar button and log in with your marketplace email and password. The Extensions menu shortcut is also available.
  4. Click a model image or name to preview its details. Choose 3D view when the seller has included an interactive preview.
  5. Choose Add to SketchUp, then click in your scene to place the model.

This preview installer is unsigned. If your SketchUp loading policy requires a signed extension, a signed release is needed before installation. SketchUp for Web and iPad cannot run this Ruby extension.

What your package needs

A SketchUp listing must contain a genuine .skp file. Save its native textures inside the model. The extension also imports bundled .skm materials.

MAX, FBX and preview GLB files are not automatically converted. V-Ray, Enscape and other renderer-specific settings still require the matching renderer and correctly packaged resources.

Files are saved in the extension’s local asset folder so they remain available to your scene. You do not need to manage the ZIP. Your first download starts the existing 30-day re-download window.

For sellers: one ZIP is enough

Keep the SketchUp model, material files and textures together. For a package containing several SKP files, you can include an optional archi3d.json at the ZIP root to select the default model:

{
  "schemaVersion": 1,
  "sketchup": {
    "model": "SketchUp/model.skp"
  }
}

Use an ordinary ZIP with Store or Deflate compression, up to 2 GB compressed and 4 GB expanded. Package paths must be relative. Password-protected and ZIP64 archives are not supported by this first release.
